Hats of Dr. Seuss come to Austin gallery
We’ve seen the elaborate hats worn by Dr. Seuss’ beloved characters, and now Austinites have the chance of checking out some of the real hats from the private collection of author Theodor Seuss Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss.
A “Hats off to Dr. Seuss!” national touring exhibit will come to the Art on Fifth Gallery on South Lamar Boulevard Friday-April 20. The exhibit celebrates the 75th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’ second book “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins” with an opening night reception Saturday from 6-9 p.m.
Dr. Seuss’ widow, Audrey S. Geisel, opened up the private hat closet for the exhibit, which marks the first time the hats have been seen outside of the Seuss Estate. For more information about the exhibit, visit arton5th.com.
